Wireless stack light

IndustrialConcept, not built

Idea“A wireless stack light for any machine that shows red, amber or green, and that I can set from my phone.”

A stack light with red, amber and green lenses, a buzzer and a Wi-Fi radio, so a phone can set it or read its state. It bolts to a machine through a slotted steel bracket and runs on 5 V from a USB-C lead.

See it come apart

One turn around the design, while its parts move apart and go back together. Rendered from the design files, like the 3D view above. It isn't footage of a real unit.

What isn't done yet

  • It has no input from the machine, so it can't sense a stop by itself. A phone or another system sets its colour.
  • It runs on 5 V from USB-C, not the 24 V most machines supply.
  • No firmware has been written for it, and no unit has been built.

Inside it

The same light pulled apart along a diagonal: steel bracket and black base, the long black circuit board with its LED groups, then the green, amber and red lenses and the grille cap.
The product pulled apart, with its real routed circuit board inside.
Its long, narrow black circuit board with a radio module and a buzzer at one end, three groups of LEDs along its length and a USB-C socket at the other end.
The circuit board our engines placed, routed and checked.
