Counter label printer

BusinessConcept, not built

Idea“A desktop label printer for my shop that prints shipping labels from my phone.”

It takes shipping labels from your phone over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and feeds them out over a metal tear bar, and its smoked lid tips back on a rear hinge to load a 100 mm roll. This design covers the case, the gears and the control board.

See it come apart

One turn around the design, while its parts move apart and go back together. Rendered from the design files, like the 3D view above. It isn't footage of a real unit.

What isn't done yet

  • It doesn't print yet: the print head is a placeholder, and USB-C can't power a real one.
  • It has no sensor to find the gap between labels.
  • No firmware has been written for it, and no unit has been built.

Inside it

The same printer pulled apart with the body still: lid, print head and paper roll above it, the rubber platen on its shaft, three meshed white spur gears, a steel plate and the stepper motor to the left, and the circuit board to the right.
The product pulled apart, with its real routed circuit board inside.
Its black circuit board with a radio module at one corner, a USB-C socket, a tact switch, an RGB LED, four MOSFETs and two pin headers.
The circuit board our engines placed, routed and checked.
